The basement is now almost completely dry so that's good. Just about everything that was ruined was books, so no huge losses. (although I did lose quite a few cookbooks and gardening books that are now OOP-- I bought them at thrift stores). Oh well, I'll move on.
Reading the knitting livejournal I found out about Crafter's Choice and promptly ordered the following knitting books (all for $16!).
FELTED KNITS
VOGUE KNITTING QUICK REFERENCE
BABY KNITS FOR BEGINNERS (Debbie Bliss)
THE KNITTING STITCH BIBLE
KNITTING JOURNAL (it's a book to record notes in)
WEEKEND KNITTING
BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS KNITTING YEAR ROUND
Can't wait for them to arrive!
I have to order 2 more books at club price within the next year, but I figure I'll order my sis one for her b-day, and then one more for myself. Probably the Finishing Techniques one.
Then this morning, I ordered It's a learn to spin Kit from Carolina Homespun, it comes with the book Spin It!, a drop spindle, and roving all for $20. Of course, I also had to order some fiber to go with it.
I'm halfway done with the front (already did the back) of the Austerman Zoom sweater. Have to say, I'm a little disappointed in the yarn. It feels a little plastic-y. I should have known better (I like natural yarns much better), but I'm determined to finish it as it will be my first sweater project completed.
On the work front, I have all my exams written, and my grading is all caught up. Next week is exams week, and I only have to teach 1/2 days on Thursday and Friday. Then, if I have all my grades in by Friday night, I have Monday completely off (it's a teacher records day). That's what I'm shooting for.
