Hmmm not too much to report today. I did finish The Lady and The Unicorn by Tracey Chevalier, and The Secret Life of Bees. Both were very good. The Lady and The Unicorn was interesting in that a few of it's many characters were weavers. I like reading about the fiber arts, even if it's not knitting.

I'm 2/3 done with the main body of the front of the UCan2 tank, and then I get to start the decreases. I think I have about 15 more rows (out of 75 pre-decreases) until the decreases; when that is finished, I plan to cast on for a pair of socks. I haven't decided if I'm going to try magicloop or not. I think I'll stick to dpns this time around. Then I have my 2 knit alongs-- the Poncho Along and the DNA along. I still haven't decided who to gift the DNA scarf to though. I'm thinking it should be a boy present, but Jason doesn't like cables and I can't remember my dad or my brother ever wearing a scarf.

I pulled out some old sweaters today hoping to rip them out for yarn, but I'm having a really tough time with it. One is an Irish handknit sweater with lots of cables, but it's next to impossible to rip out; and the other one was a nice garterstitch JCrew sweater that for some idiot reason I took the scissors to the seam. Uh Lisa, you can't do that! I don't know what the hell I was thinking. I think I'm just not cut out for recycling sweaters. I had purchased both of those at the Thrift store; I think I may root through my own sweaters tucked away downstairs to see if there's any I want to sacrifice for yarn. I have got to get this figured out!

I'm still not sure what yarn I'm going to use for the Poncho Along. I keep deciding and then changing my mind. The yarn I planned to use that I purchased at the thrift store is too thin unless I double strand it. I'd rather not use the Patons Classic Wool I have in the stash because I may use that for my DNA scarf. I have some Schoeller Esslinger Vulcano, but only 5 balls (116 meters each) and I'm not sure if that's enough. Sigh. There's no way we can afford to buy yarn for these projects right now either.
