Once again I find myself at home by myself on the weekend. And before you get all worried-- I like being at home by myself. Dh has gone off to watch a rock-crawling event, and though I was invited to go, I chose to stay home instead. It's nice being able to knit in our house with peace and quiet (when Patches is being peaceful and quiet, which is usually rarely), and knit to whatever I like on TV.

We stayed up late last night, watching the first 7 episodes of Season Two of The Sopranos. I knit almost the entire time (after eating pizza), and am now 3/4 of the way done with a felted purse. I'm pretty much winging it-- I knit a rectangle and picked up stitches and will knit until I'm tired of knitting-- I'm thinking about 70 rounds. I'm using some of the thrift store yarn I bought last weekend.

Anyone watching the Olympics? I watched the US Women's Soccer game against Brazil this morning, and was pleasantly surprised to see them win, even though they were clearly outmatched by the Brazilian team. Dumb luck I suppose.

One of the other nice things about being home alone, is I can dawdle in the kitchen without having dh hanging around asking when it's going to be finished. Right now, I'm simmering some tomato sauce (jarred however) with some added homegrown garlic, basil and green olives. The Sopranos is getting to me-- I'm craving baked spaghetti (so Mrs. Soprano cooks baked ziti-- I have no ziti, sue me). I also baked a batch of brownies for dessert. I think I'm going to head out in a few to pick up a bottle of wine, and perhaps the next few discs of The Sopranos.
