I didn't get much knitting done yesterday, because Jason and I went to the Woodward Dream Cruise. It was amazing. I've always wanted to go, but last year was the big blackout so we didn't. It doesn't officially start until Saturday (it's officially one day), but the cars have been lined up and cruising all week. It was great last night because it wasn't packed, but so many cars were still there. The dream cruise is the largest mostly moving car show there is. It's amazing to see all the old cars on the street cruising up and down Woodward Avenue (also known as Highway 1). I took pictures, but with the regular camera, so you'll have to wait to see them.
Here's the official specs on the show:
The Woodward Dream Cruise (WDC) is the grass roots phenomenon that has grown into the world's largest one-day automotive event. On the third Saturday in August, it attracts more than 1.5 million people and 40,000 muscle cars, street rods, custom, collector and special interest vehicles. The cars cruise a legendary 16-mile strip called Woodward Avenue in one glorious, celebratory, homage to America's love affair with the automobile. Spectators line the streets and many family-oriented amusements and attractions provide entertainment and excitement. This year marks the 10th anniversary of this event. It takes places in the nine cities that line Woodward Avenue in suburban Detroit, Michigan.
On the knitting front, I'm almost finished with the brim of the Bucket Hat, and will be starting the top tonight. I've also decided to join the DNA-Along. I think it will make a nice Christmas gift, though I'm not sure who will end up with it. Jason doesn't like cables (crazy isn't it?)
