A close one again!

That's all I really have to say about the election. I told myself I was going to stay up late to watch it. I was all geared up for it. Then, I found my eyes closing at around 9:30 and couldn't stay awake. Turns out, I wouldn't have found out last night anyway! Figures that it's my mom's state that's holding everything up. Kerry won Michigan. I'm not happy about Proposal 2 passing in Michigan-- which deems marriage only between a man and a woman. I voted no on discrimination.

Anywho, in case you were wondering, my secret pal 3 and I have worked out our miscommunication. She sent me an Amazon GC, and I used it to buy Simple Knits with a Twist-- I can't wait to get it. On top of that, I just got this great box from her:

I have a huge addiction to lip balm-- how did you know?! I love the hand salve, too. It's just starting to get dry now that we have the heat going a little bit and my hands will be cracking soon. And the chocolate, YUM. I'm waiting until all the Halloween candy is gone before I break into it, because I really want to savor it. I love the color of the yarn-- Cascade 220 is one of my favorites. You must have crawled in my head to find out what I liked, because I just so happen to love Mentos, tea (which is really cool because it's written in Spanish and English) and sugarless gum, too!

I haven't been knitting much these past couple of days. I guess I've just been keeping busy with other things. My family is coming up in a few weeks, and we're also having a bunch of people come over to launch the trebuchet Jason and a few friends built. The city where they launched it last year, for a contest, didn't hold it because his group was the only group who signed up. We think they scared everybody away last year. Time for a massive house clean. Ugh. When my sis and mom come up, I'm thinking about possibly talking them into a trip to Lansing to Threadbear Fiber Arts. Maybe. Jason said it's about an hour away. We might just end up going to the one over in Clarkston, though. I've never been to that one.
