Well, Jason leaves today for his business trip and won't be back until late Saturday. Whatever will I do with my time? My first objective is to finish the two hats he's requested. I cast on for one yesterday, but couldn't work on it last night because he was home. I also plan on eating all the food that I like, that he doesn't so much like rice pudding and vegetarian chili. I'm making a run to the grocery later.

Last night when I couldn't work on his hat because he was home, I started and ripped out a scarf 3 times for myself out of Brown Sheep Handpaint Originals. It's 70% mohair/30% wool. I originally started the Misty Garden scarf out of Scarf Style, but then decided it would look much nicer in a variagated yarn, then I tried the Wavy Scarf out of the new Knitty, but decided it was too fuzzy for ribs, and then tried a drop stitch pattern, but I didn't like that either.

Anyone have any recommendations for the yarn? I'd really like to try a lace pattern. I've never done one unless you count the Airy scarf from Last Minute Knitted Gifts. I have 5 hanks of the Handpaint Originals, I'm wondering if it's enough for a small shawl. Probably not, as it's less than 500 yards total. Keep in mind, I've never ever knit from a chart before. Hmm... for everyone who comments with a suggestion, I'll randomly draw one (or more depending on how many people contribute) person to win a set of handmade stitch markers. So please, comment! Help me find a nice pattern for this yarn :)

The specs on the Handpaint Originals are:
50 grams each hank, 88 yards, guage 4 1/2, needle size 8.

Here is a colorcard of the color:

P.S. I'm back from the store with my Lisa splurges. What did I buy?
*Stouffer's Mac and Cheese (the best except for my homemade)
*Ben & Jerry's Mint Chocolate Cookie ice cream
*the fixins for veggie tacos
*microwavable crispy french fries
*Progresso Lentil soup-- I am addicted to this soup. At first I though, ewww lentils, but it is so good!
*garlic bread

What do you buy for a weekend in, alone? I wish there was a new knitting mag out to purchase that I don't have, because that would have made my trip complete.
