I have way too many projects that I want to work on. I'm currently knitting the Hourglass sweater from Last Minute Knitted Gifts and the Here and There Cables scarf from Scarf Style (and havve joined both knitalongs). Before Christmas, I was able to focus on just one or two projects (and most of them not for myself), and now that Christmas is over I just feel like casting on for everything!
I want to cast on for a Noro felted stocking (for next year), some kind of dog toy-- it seems Marzi the puppy is crazy for catnip--ever heard of a dog loving catnip? She won't leave Patches catnip mouse alone! I'm also hankering to cast on for Clapotis. I'm thinking that the Brown Sheep Handpaint Originals yarn that I couldn't find a project for, may just be perfect for the the Clapotis. Originally, I didn't really like the pattern, but after reading Thirteen Ways to See Clapotis it is definitely going to be a future project for me.
And my itchy fingers and creativity aren't selective in the crafty pursuit to work on, either. I'm desperate to get a batch of soap made-- had to place a hefty order for supplies as I was out of almost *everything*. Good thing I just got a $50 order. Also, browsing the blogs today, I came across Yarn Tomato. Check out her Book Thongs. Aren't they great?! I didn't think I had any hemp cording to use, but I just raided my gift wrap supplies and found some. I must try making one later.
I woke up not wanting to do anything but lay around the house, and I must say I've gotten a lot done. Went to the grocery, did tons of laundry, cleaned the bedroom and bedroom closet, vaccuumed said bedroom, did the dishes, and am just about to start dinner. Jason and I started a game of Monopoly last night-- we just got the game for Christmas. Can you believe we didn't own it before? I was doing very bad at the beginning, but I'm starting to kick his butt now. Hope to finish that tonight, so I don't know how much knitting I'll get done, but I'll definitely be thinking of all those projects I want to knit. I think my mind just doesn't know what to do with all the possibilities now that the gift knitting is over.
Reading through many of the blogs on my bloglines today, I noticed that lots of other knitters were doing the same thing we did over the holiday-- watch movies. I got Jason a big pile of DVDs for Christmas so we've spent a lot of time watching them. So far, we've watched all 3 original Star Wars movies, a 2 1/2 hour documentary about Star Wars, Fight Club, Return of the King Special Edition, some of the Simpsons Season 3, Napolean Dynamite, Miracle on 34th Street, a Justice League dvd, and some old Looney Tunes on DVD. Believe it or not, we're still not even halfway through the pile of his new DVDs.
